TJ Farms Pumpkin Patch '08

TJ Farms, Chico, CA
The Iler Family 4
Four little pumpkins in the pumpkin patch
Using all traditional equipment, this guy was making
letters out of horseshoes. It was neat to see him work.
Cam wasn't too sure about this one until sissy got on first!
Ye old water pump...Ellie was amazed to hear that this
used to be how everyone got water...even daddy's grandma
had one!
The old fashioned corn shucker! Lots of fun! The kernels
go into buckets underneath and you use them to
feed the animals.
She actually is having fun....just refusing the picture, as usual!
Staying on this swing is harder than it looks!
Feeding the donkey the dried corn. Cam tried it but liked
the horse better....though you couldn't feed the horse.
Climbing on the hay bales in the maze. They played here
forever.....who knew hay was so much fun?!
The wagon ride heading out into the pumpkin patch
Even with all the pumpkins around, Cam still finds rocks....
and walnuts!
Cam loved the baby pumpkins best....just his size!
I had told them to hold their pumpkins up for me
so, they really did!
The bigger the better....and heavier, too!
Tunnel crawling beneath the hay bales
Well, we now have our Halloween pumpkins! Books Family Farm closed it's doors this year so we found a new place....TJ Farms. It's been in Chico a while, but I had no idea. It is a lovely place, not quite as big at Books, but all day fun none the less. We had a great time getting to see the animals and feed them, bouncing in the bounce house, picking pumpkins, and playing on the hay bales. I love being in the Chico and Paradise area as there are so many fun things like this to enjoy. Why buy a pumpkin at the store when you can pick one out of a farm patch? We are so blessed to have so much fun at our disposal! Hope you enjoy!
