Cameron's new glasses! Very Ham-mum!

Mommy's ham-mum little man. That is how Cam
says handsome.....ham-mum!
Cam and Ellie being silly and funny
Cameron loves to go thru sissy's jewelery. And her dress
up shoes. We're saving for his therapy.....
Ellie is going thru her stuffed animals bin to decide which ones
to keep and which ones to donate. One pile had about 100
the other one had about 3. Any guesses which pile was which?!
Cameron all ready for Mardi Gras....
Here are more pics of Cameron in his new glasses! If you are just checking in, the blog below this one explains more......Isn't he cute?! Have a great week!

Weekly update and Halloween Party

Ellie and Evan and their monster teeth. Ellie won hers from
the prize chest at Trader Joes for finding the hidden tiger in the
store. Evan had to get some, too. Poor little Violet
just thinks they are crazy.
Ellie went to a Halloween party on Friday night.
Ellie and Hailey were in the mummy wrapping contest. First team
to use a whole roll of T.P and wrap up their mummy completely
won!
Ellie wrapping Hailey. It was fun to see the kids
all trying to use different techniques. They are
all pretty good at problem solving, even at 5!
Elise (the hostess) and her mummy wrap partner.
Clearly, they won!
Plastic skeleton bones were hidden in the corn field for
the kids to find. They played several hundred times. Ellie found the
one with a star and got a prize.
Camers searching for bones in his new glasses. See how
much older he looks?! They grow too fast. Maybe we
should have another one.... =) I'll add more pics with
his glasses this weekend.
Ellie is a big girl now so she takes showers.
She really is a ham!
Cam loves bath time. Especially the bubbles and
soaping up the doll to wash her hair. We bribe him
with M&M's to get him out!
(Hey, don't judge me!)
Hi all! Well, Camers got his glasses on Thursday. Praise God, he loves them! He has no problems wearing them all day. They don't seem to cause any discomfort, though we have to clean them about a hundred times a day! When you tell him he is handsome, he gives you a big flirty smile. That has always been my mom's nickname for him; Handsome. Now everyone uses it. He will say 'ham-mum' for handsome. And if you ask who is handsome he will tell you, 'Camers'. We go back to the Dr. on 11/25 to see if there has been any more change in last 6 weeks. Ideally, it will have stayed the same or gotten better. Worsening is a sign that patching may be needed. So, keep us in prayer! Sorry we only have the one pic of him in his glasses! Just been busy busy and the couple times I tried he did not cooperate, but I'll try and get more on this weekend!
Thought I'd add a bath pic in since they are so cute. Ellie is older now and prefers to have showers. She takes long ones.....but she gets clean!
Ellie had a Halloween party tonight at her friends Elise's house. They call Elise by the nickname Ellie also, so our Ellie is known in that circle as Ellie Grace. It's pretty cute to hear other kids call her that. She had a blast. They have a pretty big 'farm' like property with chickens and a big garden area so the kids just got to run free and have fun. I didn't put Cam's on as it was just too hot and also I knew it would get trashed outside. Some kids dresssed up, some didn't. Ellie is getting good wear out of this years costume. She gets to wear it to school and to Awana's this upcoming week, too! Hope you all have a great week! Love you all,
The Ilers

TJ Farms Pumpkin Patch '08

TJ Farms, Chico, CA
The Iler Family 4
Four little pumpkins in the pumpkin patch
Using all traditional equipment, this guy was making
letters out of horseshoes. It was neat to see him work.
Cam wasn't too sure about this one until sissy got on first!
Ye old water pump...Ellie was amazed to hear that this
used to be how everyone got water...even daddy's grandma
had one!
The old fashioned corn shucker! Lots of fun! The kernels
go into buckets underneath and you use them to
feed the animals.
She actually is having fun....just refusing the picture, as usual!
Staying on this swing is harder than it looks!
Feeding the donkey the dried corn. Cam tried it but liked
the horse better....though you couldn't feed the horse.
Climbing on the hay bales in the maze. They played here
forever.....who knew hay was so much fun?!
The wagon ride heading out into the pumpkin patch
Even with all the pumpkins around, Cam still finds rocks....
and walnuts!
Cam loved the baby pumpkins best....just his size!
I had told them to hold their pumpkins up for me
so, they really did!
The bigger the better....and heavier, too!
Tunnel crawling beneath the hay bales
Well, we now have our Halloween pumpkins! Books Family Farm closed it's doors this year so we found a new place....TJ Farms. It's been in Chico a while, but I had no idea. It is a lovely place, not quite as big at Books, but all day fun none the less. We had a great time getting to see the animals and feed them, bouncing in the bounce house, picking pumpkins, and playing on the hay bales. I love being in the Chico and Paradise area as there are so many fun things like this to enjoy. Why buy a pumpkin at the store when you can pick one out of a farm patch? We are so blessed to have so much fun at our disposal! Hope you enjoy!

This weeks kids update......

Ellie and her AWANA club vest. She had just earned her
first badge for memorizing scriptures. She told me
she was very proud of herself. We are very proud of her, too!
Well, at least I bought the washables!
This is why God made Cameron so cute!
Nothing spells fun like P-L-A-Y-D-O-U-G-H
Ellie and her best bud Evan. They did this on their own...no posing!
Evan is the only boy Ellie likes to play with. He lets her be
her very silly self and they just get along perfectly.
Binky Buddies
Cam with Violet and Evan, who I do daycare for.
Just waking up from the morning nap. Cam is very
loving with Violet. It's very sweet to see.
Trying on sissy's raincoat the first rainy day. Thanks
again Auntie Joy!
Our church does a Faith in Action Sunday quarterly
and we chose to make cards and necklaces to take
to people in the hospital. The kids just loved it
and the patients were very receptive and loving
A sleeping angel Everyone is doing well. Cam has been fitted for his new glasses and those will be coming pretty soon and I'll post pictures. They make him look even older than his haircut did! He's like two going on 12! Haha! Ellie is staying busy between Awana's (a Christian club for boys and girls, reminiscent of girl/boy scouts) ballet and school. She went to the pumpkin patch with school and out to the fish hatchery. She is really looking forward to halloween and getting to dress up as a purple fairy. Cam chose Tigger so those pics will follow soon. Ellie had her first big fall-out with a friend at school. All is well now, but they don't just forget about it like they used to! She and her friend spoke on the phone to make things right. There were three girls kinda involved and funny that they all see what caused the problem differently. It's not easy getting details from a 5 year old, yet alone three! Something about who was going to be the 'leader' in follow the leader first. Oh, if the problems could always be this easy to solve! Cameron is talking up a storm now, though still uses his signs almost without thinking. He's pretty good about taking his binky out when he talks. I can hardly think about the day we need to wean him from that! We all just started get some more sleep! And he is showing interest in potty training and things are going well with that! Well, until the next update, take care and be safe!

Cameron's First Hair Cut August 2008

Ok, maybe his hair was a tad long when you comb
out the curls!
Nothing like a binky to calm the nerves
The new look....my handsome little man
Though it is messy and looks like the cut was uneven (it isn't though)
I had to add this pic 'cause it is just so cute! Cam's devious look.
He uses it a lot!
Well, after a bit of urging from certain friends (yes you, Kelsey!) we decided it was time for Cam's first hair cut. I just loved his curls! He has hair just like my dad's. Now, sadly he will probably come to hate that in time, but it was a nice thing for me to see. Kelsey said that when a boys hair blows in the wind when you push him on the swing, it is probably time to cut it. =)
But had I known how much older it would make him look, I think I'd have waited longer! I asked the very sweet girl if she could put his curls back. No go! So, now he is my handsome little man. He did great. He didn't want in the elephant chair and so he sat on my lap, but was very quiet and still. He especially loved getting the balloon at the end!

Cam the Mechanic

Cam, taking it all in. Dad loves to have Cam help him.
Let's see, I know he put this here somewhere.......
Ok mom, help!
Hey, where'd all this black stuff come from?
Wow! That was some hard work!
Dad was changing the breaks on the car and Cam decided to be helpful. He loves watching dad work on the car and getting to play with the tools. Maybe he'll be a mechanic.....heaven knows how helpful that would be to us!

Ellie's First Hair Cut Spring 2008

Tracy and Ellie showing off their long hair before getting it
cut. Mine wasn't all one length so I couldn't donate to Locks
of Love, but Ellie did.
Lots to keep Cam busy while he waited. He really
liked this fish rocking chair
The much loved elephant chair
Ellie holding her ponytail they send to
Locks of Love to be made into a wig
Posing after her cut to show off the glitter in her hair.
And I thought she was shy......
A better look at Ellie's final hair cut style Well, for the first 5 years I cut Ellie's hair.....but just trims. She really liked her long hair. We had talked about donating to Locks of Love when she did decide to cut it, but she kept putting that off. Until kindergarten play really got it all tangled and it had to be brushed out well. Lots of the girls in her class have short hair and I convinced her it would be easier to comb. So, in we went. We went to a kids salon in Chico which is just fun, fun, fun. Lots of toys, a t.v., and the elephant chairs to sit in. Balloon, candy, and the best part for Ellie.....spray glitter in her hair. She liked donating it for Locks of Love, too. Recently she adjusted to the easy combing out of her bob cut and started complaining again so I talked her into going even shorter in back and now she can comb her own hair! She currently has an 'A' line cut so it is just below her chin in the front and gets shorter in the back. The lady in the picture is very good with the kids and we go to her each time. Since Ellie has a 'style' now I am afraid to touch it with the scissors! My mistakes would show!
